Street Fighter 6 Playfully Teases Honkai: Star Rail Crossover Following Monster Hunter Item Release

Collaboration between Monster Hunter and Street Fighter 6

A brand new collaboration with Monster Hunter is now live in Street Fighter 6. Capcom, the developer of the fighting game, has also hinted at more potential crossovers. On April Fools’ Day, miHoYo, the developer of Honkai: Star Rail, jokingly suggested a collaboration between their game and Street Fighter 6.

Celebrating Monster Hunter’s 20th Anniversary

To commemorate the 20th Anniversary of Monster Hunter, Capcom has introduced themed avatar gear, emotes, and special titles in Street Fighter 6. Unlike the previous crossover with Street Fighter V, the new collaboration offers a unique fashion twist based on the popular action role-playing game. These exclusive items are part of the April Fighting Pass, which can be accessed and unlocked by making a purchase or exploring the Hub Goods Shop. However, the collaboration doesn’t stop there.

An Immersive Experience

The Battle Hub in Street Fighter 6 now features a distinct visual flair inspired by Monster Hunter. The music from the original game is also incorporated into the fighting stage, creating an immersive experience for players. Additionally, players can encounter legendary monsters Rathalos and Rathian in the photo booth. If you’re looking for something special, you can unlock the Wyvern Jawblade avatar gear by participating in a tutorial in the Fighting Grounds.

An Upcoming Street Voter Event

On April 8, Street Fighter 6 will host a Street Voter event, allowing players to choose their favorite Monster Hunter weapon. Each participant in the event will receive 2,000 Drive Tickets as a reward for casting their vote.

While players can currently acquire an array of Monster Hunter gear for their Street Fighter 6 avatars, another potential crossover has been teased. In a video posted on the Honkai: Star Rail social media pages, miHoYo showcased a modified character select screen featuring Pom-Pom, the game’s mascot, and a custom mecha-inspired version of the character preparing to battle Chun-Li. Although this appears to be an April Fools’ joke, fans are eagerly awaiting a potential crossover between the two franchises.

Capcom has a history of collaborating with different intellectual properties, including Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, SPYxFAMILY, and Baki. Given the immense popularity of Honkai: Star Rail and the involvement of its brand manager, who previously worked with Arc System Works, the possibility of a crossover is not far-fetched.

As we anticipate the release of Monster Hunter Wilds, it remains to be seen if the Honkai: Star Rail crossover will come to fruition. Until then, fans can enjoy the thrilling collaboration between Street Fighter 6 and Monster Hunter.
