Comical and Detailed Reveal of MultiVersus’ New PvE Mode Unveils Two Fresh Characters

The full launch of MultiVersus introduces a new PvE mode: rifts.

The highly anticipated free-to-play combat game MultiVersus, which incorporates characters from diverse universes such as DC and Tom and Jerry, is getting ready for its official release. Excitingly, the creators have announced that the game will include a completely new player-versus-environment (PvE) mode called Rifts.

In a recent video breakdown on May 16, MultiVersus characters such as Velma, Finn, Jake, and others presented a preview of what players may expect from the future PvE mode. Rifts will provide a unique and fascinating gaming experience, allowing players of all skill levels to participate in non-competitive games.

Rifts, the new game mode, is organized into campaigns, each with several Nodes. Each Node will present players with conflicts and challenges that need them to achieve certain objectives, such as defeating targets. Every Node will include Mutators, which are active modifiers that can make the game more difficult or enjoyable.

The finest aspect is that this PvE mode allows players to form teams with their friends. Collaboration is essential, as successfully completing a Node benefits all players. Nodes also allow you to acquire Gems, which boost your stats and provide unique effects such as greater damage or mobility. Gems are divided into three types: attack, defense, and utility, which players can upgrade as they progress.

During the current announcement, the MultiVersus character selection screen teased two spaces for additional characters classified as “secrets.” One of these characters, the Banana Guard from Adventure Time, has been briefly glimpsed and is now officially confirmed to feature in MultiVersus. While the identity of the second character remains a mystery, the current Joker teaser quietly hinted at the idea of the Powerpuff Girls joining the game’s roster, leading to even more suspense.

In the PvE mode, players may expect a diverse range of Rifts. There will be tutorial Rifts to help newbies learn the fundamentals, as well as Rifts with various mini-games. These first offerings are only the beginning, as the developers intend to expand the PvE mode with future updates after the game’s formal debut on May 28.
