Diablo 4 enthusiasts laud Vessel of Hatred’s early access bypass, eradicating disliked division

Blizzard skips early access for the Diablo 4: Vessel of Hatred DLC, and players are thrilled.

Diablo 4 players have today heaped praise on Blizzard for skipping the early access pass for Vessel of Hatred, the game’s first big DLC expansion, after many feared they’d go down that route again with special editions.

Mixed Reactions from Players

When Diablo 4 first came out, many were outraged because only those with the Digital Deluxe Edition or higher received four days of early access. This allowed gamers to get an advantage by experiencing new content sooner. Many players found this to be a distasteful “money-grabbing” approach by the devs that only benefited those who could afford to fork out more cash. Surprisingly though, there’s no early access advantages in any of the Vessel of Hatred editions, and players are calling this a huge win.

Pre-Order Options

If you already own Diablo 4, you can preorder Vessel of Hatred in three editions: normal, deluxe, and ultimate. None of these editions provide early access, nor does the Diablo 4 + Vessel of Hatred bundle, which is available to individuals who have not purchased the main game. Instead of early access, preorder benefits range from pets to platinum to cosmetics, ensuring that everyone starts on equal footing when Vessel of Hatred launches on October 8.

The Worth of Editions

While there is no early access, players are arguing the value of the editions. Although consumers can spend their hard-earned money however they like, players are already being chastised for spending $90 on the ultimate edition solely for the cute cosmetics, platinum, and battle pass token. The cosmetics are cute, but Hratli, the canine pet, sold me on buying the pricier edition because he resembles my own dog.

Some players believe the editions are worthwhile and are a “pretty good offer.” Still, others see them as “pretty overpriced” and “dodgy” and claim anyone who buys any of the editions is being “conned by Blizzard” with these bundles.

Regardless of where you stand on pricing for the editions, at least everyone’s on equal footing when Diablo‘s Vessel of Hatred DLC drops in October.
