CD Projekt Red Remains Silent on Second Season of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners Anime

CD Projekt Red, the studio behind the popular Cyberpunk: Edgerunners anime, has refused to comment on the possibility of a second season. During an earnings call on Nov. 28, CEO Adam Kiciński laughed off the question about a 2024 release, leaving fans disappointed. It was CFO Piotr Nielubowicz who finally responded, stating that no announcement has been made regarding a second season and they cannot comment on any release dates.

No Update for Fans of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners Anime

Fans of the Cyberpunk series will surely be disappointed by the lack of an update. Since its initial run, followers have been eager for more episodes of Edgerunners. This Netflix anime, produced by Studio Trigger, introduced new characters and showcased a different side of Night City within the Cyberpunk 2077 universe. The anime was so well-received that it even won Anime of the Year at the Crunchyroll Awards.

Possibility of Future Cyberpunk Projects

Although a second season of Edgerunners seems unlikely for 2024, CD Projekt Red has revealed plans for non-gaming projects related to the Cyberpunk franchise. While details remain undisclosed, there is hope that fans may experience more Cyberpunk content in the future.

Phantom Liberty DLC Brings More Cyberpunk 2077 Content

While a second season of Edgerunners may be uncertain, fans did get additional content in 2023 with the release of the Cyberpunk 2077 DLC, Phantom Liberty.
