Larian’s Upcoming Project Promises to Surpass Baldur’s Gate 3 in Quality

Larian Studios Moves On from the Dungeons & Dragons Franchise

Larian Studios recently surprised fans by announcing that its work with the Dungeons & Dragons franchise has come to an end. However, this acclaimed studio still has exciting plans up its sleeve.

No DLC or Sequel for Baldur’s Gate 3

Baldur’s Gate 3, developed by Larian Studios, received numerous accolades and even secured five major Game of the Year awards. Despite this success, Larian Studios has decided not to create any downloadable content (DLC) for the game or develop a sequel.

New Projects on the Horizon

Instead of continuing with Baldur’s Gate 3, Larian Studios CEO Swen Vincke revealed that the team is moving on to two new projects. While details about these projects have not been unveiled, Vincke assures players that the team is still passionate and dedicated to creating exceptional games.

Vincke teased fans with an announcement on April 17, expressing his belief that the current projects will be Larian’s “best work ever.” Although he acknowledges the uncertainty of delivering on this promise, Vincke is thrilled by the narrative, visual, and gameplay plans in progress, which have left him “excited like a kid.”

While specifics about Larian Studios’ upcoming projects remain elusive, fans can still be optimistic. If any studio can successfully transition to new endeavors, it’s Larian, considering the masterpiece they created with Baldur’s Gate 3.
