Helldivers 2 Takes on a Massive Task: Eradicating Two Billion Terminid Bugs
After successfully defending against the Automaton invasion, Helldivers 2 players are now being sent to the other side of the galaxy for an even greater mission. They have been tasked with the eradication of two billion Terminid bugs, a challenge that must be completed by Wednesday, April 23. However, the Helldiver fleet is already making significant progress towards achieving this goal.
A Tremendous Undertaking
The latest Major Order was delivered to players this morning, calling on the Helldivers to eliminate two billion Terminid bugs. Although the deadline is still a few days away, the Helldiver fleet is already well on its way to accomplishing this seemingly daunting task. In fact, within minutes of the order being posted on the official Helldivers 2 account on X, almost half a billion bugs had already been destroyed.
The Importance of E-710
The decision to focus the fleet’s attention on the Terminids comes from a crucial lore standpoint. Terminids, upon death and decay, transform into a valuable oil-like substance called E-710. This substance serves as a vital fuel for both war efforts and the reserves of E-710 have been reported to be low after the recent defense against the Automatons. Prior to the Automaton invasion, the Helldivers were engaged in a Major Order to clear the way for new E-710 farms on Hellmire, Estanu, and Crimsica.
The Ethical Implications
Interestingly, this mission involves invading and attacking a less developed civilization solely for its oil resources. However, speaking openly about the ethical implications of this concept could lead to a dissidence charge on Super Earth. Fortunately, the majority of the responses to the latest Major Order announcement have been overwhelmingly positive, indicating the excitement and determination of the Helldivers to exterminate the Terminid bugs.
