Alliance and Gambit compete for final direct invite spot at The International 2019

Alliance and Gambit Esports Battle for Final Direct Invite to The International 2019

Alliance and Gambit Esports are set to face off in a crucial series at the EPICENTER Major, with the winner securing the last direct invite to The International 2019.

After LGD Gaming eliminated Forward Gaming, Keen Gaming secured one of the three remaining TI9 invites, despite not making it to the Major. Meanwhile, OG’s victory over Team Secret leaves only one spot open for the two teams on the edge.

Alliance had a tough series against Royal Never Give Up to reach this point. Despite a strong showing from the Chinese team, Alliance managed a hard-fought 2-1 win.

RNG claimed game one after a lengthy laning phase, with Alliance’s Max “qojqva” Bröcker dominating the middle of the map as Zeus. However, a mix of overcommitment and late rotations cost Alliance the game. Despite this setback, Alliance excelled in the final two matches to snatch the series victory.

Gambit had a more favorable matchup against Ninjas in Pyjamas, a team they have faced multiple times this season. Gambit emerged victorious with a clean 2-0 sweep, showcasing exemplary performances from Andrey “Afoninje” Afonin and Artsiom “fng” Barshack.

The upcoming clash between Alliance and Gambit will determine the final TI9 invite, and secure the winning team a top-eight finish at EPICENTER. The series will commence on June 28 at 7am CT.
