STYKO Extends Contract with Cloud9 until September

Cloud9 Extends Loan of STYKO for FACEIT London Major

Cloud9, the North American esports organization, has announced the extension of Martin “STYKO” Styk’s loan from Mousesports. STYKO will be competing with Cloud9 in the FACEIT London Major starting in September. This loan extension allows STYKO to act as a stand-in for the team during the last CS:GO season of the year.

Cloud9 has officially added Maikhil “golden” Selim as the team’s newest in-game leader. The organization will make a decision about STYKO’s permanent fit on the team after his trial period ends in October. So far, STYKO has quickly adjusted to both the team and Cloud9, according to the organization’s announcement.

Despite some uncertainty regarding Cloud9’s roster during the player break in August, the team has chosen to continue to trial STYKO. This decision comes before the roster lock for the London Major on August 5th. Cloud9 is looking forward to showcasing a revitalized lineup at the major, with STYKO playing a significant role.

C9 coach Soham “valens” Chowdhury expressed his confidence in STYKO, stating, “It has been clear from day one that [STYKO] deserves to be competing at the highest levels, and he has an incredible mindset for a team game. All of us are looking forward to showing off a revitalized Cloud9 at the major, and we expect [STYKO] to be a huge part of it!”

Cloud9 will kick off their journey in the London Major on September 12th at the New Legend stage.
