Oskar makes a comeback to mousesports as CS:GO offseason kicks off

Mousesports Brings Back Oskar to Active Roster

The first Valve Major of the year has concluded, signaling the start of the Counter-Strike: Global Offensive offseason.

Mousesports, following their disappointing performance in the group stage of the ELEAGUE Major, has decided to add Czech superstar Tomáš “Oskar” Štastný back to their starting roster. This means that long-time mousesports AWPer Chris “chrisJ” De Jong will no longer compete on the active roster.

The team initially acquired Oskar in August 2016, but he was benched after only two months of competition. Since then, he has remained with the organization as an inactive player.

This decision comes after mousesports’ disappointing performance in the ELEAGUE Major, where they were only able to win one of their group stage games. Mousesports CEO Cengiz Tüylü expressed his disappointment in the team’s official press release, referring to their performance as a “failure” given their extensive preparation for the event.

Tüylü wrote, “We had extensive holidays, we had a long bootcamp, where the guys worked hard and had very good results in practice but once the pressure was on in Atlanta we couldn’t deliver the performance we had hoped for.”

Oskar is set to make his return to the roster in the upcoming European IEM World Championship qualifier on Feb. 4.
