Ivern’s Balance Adjustments Coming in Patch 7.10

Ivern Balance Changes on the Horizon

Ivern, the friendly forest dweller in League of Legends, may be getting some much-anticipated balance changes. According to a recent dev post on the official League forums, Riot Games has revealed some concrete information about Ivern’s upcoming adjustments.

These balance changes for Ivern have been in the works for quite some time now. The first mention of them was back in March when Riot’s core gameplay lead designer, Andrei “Meddler” van Roon, hinted at the changes in a dev post.

One of the key topics addressed in the recent dev post is Ivern’s unique ability to double the red and blue buff in the jungle with a successful smite. However, Riot’s developers are now considering the possibility of removing this ability. They believe it is not a core aspect of the champion’s design or a trait that aligns with his lore.

In order to balance Ivern properly, Riot will need to address his movement speed, clearing speed, and invade power, as confirmed by Meddler. The target patch for these adjustments is 7.10, with additional changes planned for other champions in future updates.

Meddler also briefly mentioned two other champions that will undergo changes in upcoming patches. Heimerdinger’s adjustments have been teased in a previous dev post but are expected to take longer than initially anticipated. The midseason update will also bring changes to Maokai’s W ability, which will start slowly but accelerate rapidly to address its current sluggishness.
