Philippine Dota 2 teams overcome visa challenges for The International tournament
Philippine Dota 2 fans often claim that foreign teams are not the greatest challenge for their teams in qualifying for foreign events; it’s the U.S. embassy. However, this year, the narrative is changing as top sides TNC and Execration have secured their visas ahead of The International tournament on Aug. 2 in Seattle.
TNC and Execration made sure to apply for their visas well in advance. Thanks to assistance provided by the Philippine Games and Amusements Board, both teams had their visa applications approved earlier today, according to Filipino shoutcaster Nico “KuyaNic” Nazario.
As a result, both teams can now shift their focus to preparing for the tournament. They may consider scrimming with each other for a day or two before leaving for the US, as The International 7 is only 12 days away.
However, some teams are still facing challenges in securing their visas for this year’s tournament. Russian squad Empire, European team HellRaisers, and South American qualifier winners Infamous are among the teams that are still awaiting their visas.
