Sentinels Faces Speculation and Roster Change Rumors After VALORANT Champions Upset

After an unexpected loss to KRÜ Esports in the group stage of VALORANT Champions, Sentinels, once considered the best team in the world, is facing speculation and rumors about potential roster changes.

Coach of Sentinels suggests no roster adjustments necessary following VCT Champions disappointment

During the first half of 2021, Sentinels had a flawless performance, winning several tournaments in North America and securing the victory at VCT Stage Two Masters Two in Reykjavik, VALORANT’s first international LAN event. However, the team’s performance declined in the latter half of the year, raising concerns after their disappointing showing at VCT Stage Three Masters Three Berlin in September. They were defeated by Envy in the first round of the playoffs.

In an effort to turn things around, Sentinels added former FaZe Clan player Shane “Rawkus” Flaherty as the team’s first head coach in November. However, the turnaround has not happened as quickly as expected. Despite the team’s performance at VALORANT Champions, Rawkus has dismissed the rumors of roster changes in a recent stream.

Rawkus stated, “You can clip this, fucking keep it public, there are no roster changes, nothing is going to change. There is nothing that needs to be changed. We made a couple of fuck-ups in one match, that’s all it is.”

However, it remains unclear whether Rawkus’ statement will put an end to the rumors. Sentinels player Michael “dapr” Gulino has also made changes to his Twitter bio, referring to himself as a “content creator for Sentinels” following their elimination from VALORANT Champions. Yet, there has been no official announcement from the team.

has reached out to Sentinels for clarification on dapr’s status, but the organization has not responded as of December 7.
