G2 Esports Renews Caps’ Contract for Four Years
G2 Esports has extended Caps’ contract for another four years, the team announced today, pending approval from Riot Games. Caps’ previous contract was set to expire in November 2023, but he has now secured a long-term commitment with G2. This move comes after Riot reportedly increased the maximum contract length for League of Legends players to four years.
G2 has undergone significant changes following their unsuccessful 2021 season. Caps and jungler Jankos are the only remaining players from last year’s starting lineup. The new roster includes top laner Broken Blade, AD carry Victor “Flakked” Lirola, and support Raphaël “Targamas” Crabbé.
Caps will also have the opportunity to face off against his former teammate Perkz, who joined Vitality for the upcoming 2022 season. The LEC Spring Split is set to begin on Jan. 14.
