Reportedly, iconic PSG mid laner retires from LoL after exit from Worlds 2023

PSG Talon’s Mid Laner, Maple, Retires After Early Exit from Worlds 2023

PSG Talon’s journey in Worlds 2023 came to an end as they lost in the final series of the Play-In stage against Team BDS. Unfortunately, this loss also marked the retirement of a veteran player from the League of Legends community.

According to a report by Sheep Esports’ LCS Eevee, Maple, the mid laner for PSG Talon, has retired on Oct. 17. While this news hasn’t been officially confirmed yet, Maple’s contract is set to expire on Nov. 20, and after a decade-long professional career, it’s not surprising to see him bid farewell to the pro scene.

Throughout his 10-year career, Maple gained recognition playing for various Asian organizations. He mainly competed in the LMS (which later became the PCS) under the banners of Flash Wolves and PSG Talon. Together with these teams, he participated in numerous international tournaments, including four Mid-Season Invitationals, reaching the semifinals in each of them.

Despite briefly joining teams like Suning and TSM in the LPL and LCS, respectively, Maple’s appearances in the League of Legends World Championship were always with LMS/PCS teams.

Maple is a true legend, especially in the eyes of local fans. Despite the dominance of the four main regions in Worlds and MSIs, the LMS and PCS have caused a few upsets throughout the game’s history. And in many of those cases, Maple was the driving force behind them.
