Monopoly GO’s Golden Blitz event returns to mixed player reactions

Monopoly GO Players Express Discontent with Golden Blitz Event

On Oct. 11, Monopoly GO players from Spain and South America had the opportunity to participate in the first-ever Golden Blitz event. However, now that the event has been made available to everyone, many players are expressing their dissatisfaction.

The Golden Blitz event is a limited-time event that allows players to give out and receive Golden stickers. This is a significant development as Golden stickers were previously unable to be traded in the game and could only be obtained by randomly opening sticker packs.

Last week’s Golden Blitz event enabled players to trade two Golden stickers, namely “Happy Trading” and “Discovery.” To participate, players could join the official Facebook trading group and share what they had and needed. Unfortunately, the event was only accessible in the aforementioned regions, although many players managed to partake in it through the use of a VPN.

On Oct. 16, the first official Golden Blitz event became available worldwide, with more to come, but the response has been mixed. The initial event allowed players to trade two rare stickers that many were missing or had an excess of. However, the global event only permitted trading of new stickers that not many players had.

According to a Reddit post on Oct. 16, more than 90 percent of players did not have the stickers required for trading. While some players were fortunate enough to take advantage of the event and add the stickers to their collection, others were not as lucky. To make matters worse, several users reported that some players with the stickers to trade were asking for real money in exchange.

Sticker trading has been a feature in Monopoly GO for some time, but it was previously limited to non-golden stickers. Players have been requesting the ability to trade golden stickers for months, and the Golden Blitz event was meant to fulfill that request. However, according to fans, it did not meet their expectations.

Up until now, the only way to obtain certain Golden stickers was through the occasional distribution of sticker packs. These packs could also be purchased with real money, and the stickers they contained were random. Therefore, it seems illogical for developers to allow players to freely trade these valuable stickers without any limitations.

It remains to be seen how the next Golden Blitz event will unfold and whether or not the dedicated Monopoly GO community will be satisfied. Even if the event does not live up to their expectations, players can still enjoy Creative Accounting events, which provide a lot of fun.
