Official: Klaj departs from Fnatic

Fnatic bids farewell to Klaj

Fnatic has said goodbye to the last member of Fnatic Academy. Johan “Klaj” Olsson, the support player for Fnatic and Fnatic Academy, has officially left the organization to embark on a new journey, as he confirmed on Twitter.

“Working with Klaj over the last year has been a great experience,” said Finlay “Quaye” Stewart, Fnatic’s League of Legends Team Director, in the official announcement. “Always positive and constantly striving to improve, Klaj has dedicated himself to our organization, and we are forever grateful for that.”

Klaj joined the main Fnatic roster in 2016, replacing the long-time support player, Bora “YellOwStaR” Kim. He helped the team secure a third-place finish in the 2016 Spring Split. Despite losing to G2 Esports in the semifinals of the Spring Playoffs, Klaj’s contribution was crucial.

When YellOwStaR returned to Fnatic for the 2016 Summer Split, Klaj was moved to Fnatic Academy to lead the team towards promotion. After two splits, Fnatic Academy fulfilled their ambitions by winning the 2017 Summer Promotion tournament against Giants Gaming.

However, Klaj and his team’s chance at the 2017 EU LCS Summer Split was denied when Ninjas in Pyjamas bought Fnatic Academy’s slot and replaced all the members with new players.

Fnatic’s announcement suggests that Klaj has moved on to new challenges, potentially joining a new team. The Riot contract database has recently been updated, showing Klaj as a member of EU Challenger Team Paris Saint-Germain.
