2018 Spring Split NA LCS Finals Brings Fan Experience to the Next Level
Up until this weekend, Riot-hosted events and tournaments followed a familiar routine: arrive, watch, leave. But the 2018 Spring Split NA LCS finals in Miami changed the game.
In the past, you might have had the chance to take a silly photo behind a giant League of Legends loading screen border or meet your favorite caster. But in Miami, Riot went all out to create an immersive fan experience.
With booths, a cosplay station, body art tents, bean bag toss, a red carpet, team meetups, an arcade with a new League-inspired game, merch stores, a sign-creating station, and food—there was something for everyone. Plus, there was plenty of alcohol.
The Fillmore at the Jackie Gleason Theater in Miami, however, is a small venue compared to the previous finals venue at TD Garden in Boston. This allowed Riot to create a more intimate atmosphere and explore unique activities for fans.
By bringing the 2018 Spring Split NA LCS finals to a smaller venue, Riot transformed the event into a convention-style experience that left fans wanting more.
