What we know about the upcoming Fortnite and Avengers collaboration

Epic Teases Fortnite x Avengers Mashup in Celebration of Avengers: Endgame

Epic Games has recently hinted at a new collaboration between Fortnite and Avengers, set to release on April 25. This exciting crossover event is likely in celebration of Avengers: Endgame premiering on April 26. Although the first teaser featuring a Fortnite character holding Captain America’s shield doesn’t reveal much, we can speculate on what to expect based on previous Avengers events and collaborations with Epic and other entertainment companies.

Possible Avenger-Themed Cosmetic Items

The initial teaser suggests that Fortnite players might have access to Avengers-themed cosmetic items during the event. Imagine wielding Captain America’s shield as a pickaxe, or sporting Thor’s hammer or Tony Stark’s Iron Man suit as character skins. While this may seem like a far-fetched idea, Epic has previously included characters and items from other brands in the game, such as the collaboration with EDM musician Marshmello, who had a character skin available for purchase in the Item Shop.

Expect a Special Limited-Time Game Mode

Fans should prepare for a special limited-time game mode, similar to last year’s Infinity Gauntlet mode. This mode allowed Fortnite players to become Thanos, wielding the power of the Infinity Gauntlet during matches. Players enjoyed increased health regeneration, total health points, shield, and special abilities while wearing the Gauntlet. We may see the return of this mode or a new one specifically designed for the Endgame theme.

Unlock Special Rewards with Exclusive Challenges

Another possibility is the introduction of exclusive challenges that all players can complete to unlock special rewards, including sprays, pickaxes, and Avengers-themed items. This approach was successful during the Marshmello event and combining special challenges with a Limited-Time Mode could provide an ideal combination for an immersive experience.

Epic Games has only released one teaser so far, but expect more information in the coming days regarding this exciting mashup. Given the magnitude of the event, it’s likely that the v8.50 update, scheduled for release this week, will introduce the collaboration on April 25.
