ZETA DIVISION Secures Last VCT Masters Playoff Spot by Defeating Ninjas in Pyjamas

ZETA DIVISION Secures VALORANT Champions Tour Masters Reykjavík Playoff Spot

ZETA DIVISION has clinched the final playoff spot in the VALORANT Champions Tour Masters Reykjavík with a crucial 2-1 victory over Ninjas in Pyjamas.

Both teams entered the elimination match with a 1-1 record in the group stage, having defeated Fnatic and lost to DRX. The winner of this match would secure the last spot in the playoffs and continue their journey in Iceland. In the first game, NiP dominated ZETA on Split with a decisive 13-6 victory. After a 7-5 halftime score, NiP finished strong with three consecutive rounds to take a 1-0 lead.

However, ZETA fought back on NiP’s chosen map, Icebox, winning 13-10. Despite a chaotic first half where ZETA took an 8-4 lead, ZETA’s player Yuuma “Dep” Hisamoto stood out as Jett, boasting a 2.0 KD with 26 kills and only 13 deaths. Though ZETA struggled on their own map pick, they regrouped on Icebox and leveled the series at 1-1.

Fracture became the deciding map, a map that only ZETA had played once before in their match against Fnatic. Despite NiP reaching match point, ZETA made a comeback and forced the game into overtime. NiP struggled to maintain their momentum after an early lead, and ZETA capitalized on their consecutive round wins to claim a 14-12 victory in overtime, securing both the map and the series.

Next, ZETA will face the top-seeded team from EMEA, G2 Esports, in the first round of the playoffs on April 14. The winner will then take on LOUD or Liquid in the semifinals.
