Zeek’s benching in ACEND stemmed from reasons unrelated to his previous mental breakdown, claims the player

ACEND Removes Zeek from VALORANT Lineup

ACEND, a European organization, made the decision to remove Aleksander “zeek” Zygmunt from their active lineup in order to enhance their chances in the Last Chance Qualifier. This move sparked speculation in the VALORANT community, prompting zeek to address the rumors in a TwitLonger post.

In response to the removal, some members of the VALORANT community speculated that zeek’s departure was due to a mental breakdown he experienced earlier this year.

In his TwitLonger, zeek clarified, “Guys, since that horrible time during my first two months of the new year, I am back to my normal self. It was a one-time period and I will never come back to that state. My benching had nothing to do with it.”

According to zeek, the actual reason for his benching was a misalignment in vision between himself and the ACEND staff and players. He expressed disappointment that this change occurred just before the LCQ, but hopes that ACEND will find a suitable substitute and achieve better results than they did with him in the EMEA VCT Stage Two playoffs.

zeek also addressed claims that he served as ACEND’s in-game leader. He clarified that his role on the team was to provide mid-round calls and that he occasionally shot-called entire rounds and series, but not as frequently as the true in-game leaders, such as former captain Santeri “BONECOLD” Sassi and current IGL Vakaris “vakk” Bebravičius.

It is currently unknown who ACEND will select as zeek’s replacement for the LCQ. The Polish player expressed that a new chapter in his career is on the horizon.
