XSET’s Cryocells says VALORANT Chamber nerfs have had minimal impact on the agent

Riot under fire for Chamber balance in VALORANT

Riot Games has faced criticism from professional players for their attempts to balance the agent Chamber in VALORANT. Matthew “Cryocells” Panganiban, a player for XSET, expressed his doubts about Riot’s success in balancing the character.

In an interview with Run It Back, Cryocells stated, “I feel that they still haven’t really changed what makes Chamber really strong.”

Cryocells highlighted Chamber’s ability to quickly recover from missed shots and teleportation as two problematic aspects of the character. He mentioned that these mechanics have remained largely unchanged despite Riot’s attempts to balance Chamber.

Although Chamber received nerfs in the recent VALORANT Patch 5.03, Cryocells expressed his belief that these changes were not significant enough to impact the character’s gameplay. The nerfs targeted Chamber’s abilities, including Trademark, Headhunter, Rendezvous, and Tour De Force.

The impact of Chamber’s strength on the game’s meta is reflected in his win ratio during the VALORANT Champions event. With a win ratio of 70%, Chamber surpasses other agents, such as Viper and Fade, by a considerable margin, according to VLR.GG.

Cryocells and XSET have heavily relied on Chamber’s abilities in their gameplay, securing a spot in the event’s playoffs after defeating both FPX and XERXIA. Cryocells has primarily played Chamber or Jett throughout the tournament.
