XERXIA Esports Eliminated from VCT Masters Copenhagen
The first team to be eliminated in the group stage of VCT Masters Copenhagen is XERXIA Esports. They suffered a defeat at the hands of NORTHEPTION today.
The thrilling battle between Thai-based XERXIA Esports and Japanese team NORTHEPTION had VALORANT fans on the edge of their seats. The last map, Bind, was particularly intense as the two teams were neck and neck throughout.
However, NORTHEPTION’s journey is not yet secure. They still have to fight their way to the playoff bracket by facing FunPlus Phoenix in a decider match, a team they have not yet played in Masters Copenhagen. Since FPX defeated XERXIA in their first match of the tournament, NORTHEPTION will need to study their opponents closely if they want to advance to the playoffs.
The match today was a back-and-forth affair, both in terms of map results and round outcomes. While the first two maps were not closely contested, XERXIA managed to secure a 13-9 victory on Split. NORTHEPTION responded with a 13-8 win on Haven.
However, it was on Bind where the two teams faced significant resistance. The first half ended in a 6-6 tie, and NORTHEPTION seemed to gain momentum with four consecutive round wins. Yet XERXIA rallied back and won the next three rounds, bringing the score to 11-10.
In the end, NORTHEPTION emerged victorious with a final score of 15-13. They showcased their strength in the closing rounds and secured their spot in the playoffs, while XERXIA’s journey in the tournament came to an end.
XERXIA will now return home, packing their bags, while NORTHEPTION prepares to face FPX in the decider match tomorrow. The outcome of this match will determine who moves on to the playoff bracket at VCT Masters Copenhagen.
