Where will the VCT Champions 2021 be held?

VCT Champions Heads to Europe

The VCT Champions tournament is set to take place in Europe. Originally, Riot planned to host international events of the VCT in different regions, but due to COVID-19 complications, the organizers had to re-evaluate their plans.

Riot’s main goal was to secure locations that would increase the chances of qualified teams attending Champions. According to a statement in September, Riot wanted to find venues that would allow the greatest likelihood for teams to participate.

There were rumors that the end-of-year event would be held in Los Angeles, supported by an image found in VALORANT’s WATCH // Year One Anthem video. However, the decision was made to return to Berlin, which successfully hosted VCT Masters Berlin in September.

According to Riot, European travel policies are the most favorable for bringing players from the participating VCT regions together. This provides the best opportunity to create a Champions event where all qualified teams can attend.

Riot’s priorities for the event are to ensure safety and inclusivity for all participants and to create a globally enjoyable experience for fans.

The Champions tournament will take place from December 1 to 12 and will feature 16 teams. Twelve teams will qualify based on their performance during the regular season, while four teams will come from the Last Chance Qualifiers.
