When is the release date for Breeze, the new tropical map in VALORANT?

Breeze: A New Map Coming to VALORANT with a Tropical Setting

VALORANT players will soon have the opportunity to explore a new map called Breeze, which takes them to a tropical holiday destination. This will be the first time that the game introduces a map with such a setting. Get ready for long-range engagements, wide-open spaces, and a colorful environment.

The development team at Riot Games has shared their objectives with Breeze. They wanted to create larger and more open spaces with longer sightlines compared to the other maps in the game. Senior game designer Sal Garozzo mentioned that this design choice allows for different weapons and agents to shine. Each map in VALORANT should offer unique strengths and weaknesses for the agents to explore, supporting various strategies and team compositions.

Breeze is set to release on April 27, along with Episode Two, Act Three. Players will have the chance to enjoy the new map while progressing through the new battle pass. However, Breeze will not be available in competitive matchmaking for the first two weeks of the act.

Breeze offers a refreshing change from the cold and brutal environment of Icebox. According to VALORANT developer Devon Fay, the map drew inspiration from Caribbean islands, creating an open, bright, and colorful world. Players can expect a shift in playstyle to adapt to the long-range engagements Breeze requires. This might also result in a new meta for team compositions, giving some of VALORANT’s lesser-utilized agents an opportunity to shine.
