What’s the future for VALORANT players from The Nation after disbanding?

The Fate of VALORANT Players from The Nation Roster

The Nation, a star-studded makeshift lineup consisting of some of the biggest names in the NA VALORANT scene, attracted a large audience during the Challengers League qualifiers. Despite their formidable talent, The Nation narrowly missed qualifying for the league in both the open qualifier and the “Last Chance” qualifier, falling short in the lower brackets. With their journey coming to an end, it raises the question: What happens to the VALORANT players from The Nation?

Stewie2K

Although The Nation is now disbanded, Jake “Stewie2K” Yip remains determined to continue his grind. Stewie expressed his gratitude to his former teammates for the learning opportunities and growth they provided in the short amount of time they had together. Currently signed as a content creator for Evil Geniuses, the former NA CS:GO Major winner has stepped back from the organization’s professional CS:GO roster. While he has not officially announced any plans to compete, it’s not implausible for EG to consider him for their ambitious 10-man VALORANT roster.

Rossy

After his impressive performance for The Nation during qualifiers, Daniel “Rossy” Abedrabbo, formerly of Immortals and TSM, quickly found a new team. Just three hours after declaring his free agency, the 19-year-old announced that he was no longer looking for a team. Although his official destination has yet to be revealed, an announcement is expected soon, coinciding with the start of the VCT LOCK//IN and NA VALORANT Challengers League in less than a month.

TiGG

Tanner “TiGG” Spanu, formerly of Luminosity and Shopify Rebellion, faces an uncertain future following The Nation’s disbandment. As the primary controller for the team, TiGG excelled on both Brimstone and Viper. With two years of VCT experience and a strong showing in the qualifiers, he presents a promising midseason pickup option for teams in need of a controller role player.

Wardell

Matthew “Wardell” Yu’s journey is an intriguing one. In late 2020, he was on the verge of emerging as a prominent North American VALORANT player after delivering exceptional performances with TSM at the FaZe Clan Invitational and First Strike. However, his 2021 VCT campaign fell short, leading Wardell to focus more on content creation rather than professional play. It remains a mystery what his next move will be at the professional level.

Brax

The future for Braxton “brax” Pierce, the first player to be signed to an organization in VALORANT, is uncertain. VALORANT was meant to be a fresh start for his career after being banned from CS:GO. Unfortunately, his time with T1 and TSM did not yield the desired results. Now, brax himself has expressed uncertainty about continuing to play VALORANT.
