Where Will VALORANT’s Next Map Be?
Riot Games has not officially announced the location for the next VALORANT map, but there are strong indications pointing toward one specific city: Los Angeles, California.
Some fans have already started guessing that the next map will be set in a sunny location. This speculation began after a player card in the Episode Seven battle pass showed a scene with palm trees and a large building in the background, called Golden Hour.
A clearer indication emerged with the release of a teaser trailer featuring characters Cypher and Deadlock. In the trailer, they investigate suspicious activities by a powerful organization, Kingdom Corporation, that aims to exploit Radianite’s power.
In the trailer, Cypher displays an unmarked map on one of his monitors, showcasing an undisclosed location. While there are no clear signs about the exact place, the image aligns perfectly with an area southeast of Los Angeles.
Upon closer inspection, the intersecting freeways such as I-605, I-91, and I-5 can be spotted. The coastal area on the southern side of the map matches with Long Beach, a city known for its distinctive port. The specific area marked by Cypher appears to be Los Nietos, situated between Santa Fe Springs and Whittier.
When Will the New Map Be Announced?
Based on the latest trailer, fans can expect new content and an announcement about the new map during the 2023 VALORANT Champions finals on Saturday, Aug. 26. This event, which coincidentally takes place in Los Angeles, will serve as the perfect platform to unveil the upcoming map.
