Visa Issues Threaten Full Attendance of Asian VALORANT Team at VCT Pacific League

Global Esports Faces Visa Troubles for Indian Passport Holders ahead of VCT Pacific League

Global Esports, a partner of Riot Games in Asia, is experiencing difficulties in flying its Indian passport holders to Seoul, South Korea for the upcoming VCT Pacific League matches, according to Rushindra Sinha, the organization’s founder.

Sinha took to Twitter today to reveal that all non-Indian passport holders on Global Esports’ VALORANT team have already arrived in Seoul. This includes four out of the five players who participated in the VCT LOCK//IN São Paulo event in February. Unfortunately, the Indian passport holders, including starting player Ganesh “SkRossi” Gangadhar, are currently unable to travel due to the ongoing visa processing. Backup player Abhirup “Lightningfast” Choudhury, Sinha himself, and the organization’s head of esports, Vatsal Uniyal, are in the same situation.

“That could be tomorrow or [the] day after or next Monday or in April,” Sinha said regarding the readiness of the visas. “There’s nothing left for us to do, everything has already been submitted a while ago, now we just wait for our passports to come back soon.”

Uncertainty surrounds Global Esports’ Starting Lineup for VCT Pacific League Debut

The starting lineup that Global Esports plans to use in their debut match against T1 on Saturday, March 25, remains unclear. Apart from the players who competed in the VCT LOCK//IN event, the organization also has Australian player Michael Wronski and Lightningfast on the roster.

If SkRossi and Lightningfast do not make it in time due to the visa process, it is likely that Global Esports will have to compete with AYRIN, Bazzi, texture, Monyet, and Wronski at the VCT Pacific League, as they are the only ones who have arrived in Seoul. This situation could pose challenges for Global Esports, especially since Wronski has not played a professional VALORANT match since August 2022 when he was still part of ORDER, as reported by VLR.gg’s database.
