Viper’s Kit Receives Major Upgrades in VALORANT Patch 1.04, Raze and Brim Experience Minor Nerfs

Viper Receives Extensive Buffs in VALORANT Patch 1.04

Viper, the poison-wielding agent in VALORANT, has received significant buffs in the latest Patch 1.04 update from Riot. The update also includes minor nerfs to the ultimates of Raze and Brimstone.

Increase in Viper’s Ultimate Duration

The maximum amount of time Viper can stay outside of her ultimate before it collapses has been increased from five seconds to 12 seconds. Additionally, enemies inside Viper’s ultimate will have their mini-map obscured, and their presence will no longer be detected by teammates. Viper will also have a brighter red glow when enemies walk into her trap.

Enhanced Poison Abilities

Walking into Viper’s poison will now cause increased decay from 10 to 15, and the decay will continue for 2.5 seconds after leaving the poison smoke. Viper can also activate her Poison Cloud and Toxic Screen simultaneously with the fuel cost depleting as if only one ability is active.

Improved Attack and Defense for Viper

With these buffs, Viper will become even more oppressive in defending a site and gain superior vision to attack a site effectively.

Nerfs to Raze and Brimstone

The cost of Raze’s ultimate ability, Showstopper, has been increased from six to seven to prevent it from being used too often. Similarly, Brimstone’s Orbital Strike will now cost seven. However, Brimstone’s Stim Beacon will no longer buff enemies or show its effect radius to the opposing team.

Cypher Receives Quality of Life Buff

Cypher’s cages can now be picked up during the buy phase, providing a quality of life improvement for players.

These updates aim to enhance the gameplay experience for VALORANT players, giving Viper more strategic opportunities while maintaining balance for the other agents.
