VCT Masters Reykjavík Groupings Reveal OpTic, XERXIA, KRÜ, and Liquid to Face-off in First-Round Rematches of Champions 2021

Riot Games Announces VCT Masters Reykjavík Group Stage Matchups

Riot Games and the VALORANT esports team have officially announced the groups and group stage brackets for VCT Masters Reykjavík today. The opening-round matchups for Team Liquid, OpTic Gaming, KRÜ Esports, Fnatic, and others have been revealed.

Group A: Fnatic, Ninjas in Pyjamas, DRX VS, and ZETA DIVISION. EMEA’s third seed, Fnatic, will face off against NiP, while DRX and ZETA will go head-to-head in a battle of Asian superpowers, marking DRX’s international debut.

Group B: OpTic, XERXIA, KRÜ, and Liquid. Liquid, who received an invite to the event after FPX couldn’t attend, will start their run with a rematch against KRÜ Esports. OpTic and XERXIA will also have a rematch from the Champions 2021 group stage.

The top two teams from each group will advance to the playoffs. The playoffs will feature the top seeds from major regions, including The Guard, G2 Esports, Paper Rex, and LOUD.

The group stage begins on Sunday, April 10, and concludes on Wednesday, April 13. The playoffs will start the following day and feature a double-elimination bracket, culminating in a five-map grand finals on Sunday, April 24. The complete schedule and talent list will be announced later.
