VCT EMEA Set to Resume This Weekend with 3 Matches

The EMEA VALORANT Champions Tour Set to Resume after Hiatus

The EMEA VALORANT Champions Tour is preparing to restart this weekend after a brief pause. The tournament, which features top teams from Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, will kick off on Saturday, March 5 with SuperMassive Blaze taking on BBL and G2 facing off against Acend. On Sunday, March 6, Team Liquid will go head-to-head with LDN UTD.

Temporary Hiatus Due to Ongoing Crisis

The EMEA circuit of the VALORANT Champions Tour had been on hiatus since February 24 due to the ongoing crisis in Ukraine. Riot Games made the decision to postpone the third week of the tournament in light of the conflict and its impact on players, Riot employees, and fans.

Rescheduling and Potential Adjustments

Riot Games has announced its plan to set up a dual broadcast for the upcoming weekend, with the third week games playing concurrently with the previously scheduled matches from the fifth week. The tournament organizer is also working on rescheduling the postponed matches from week four. Riot Games is aware of the uncertainty faced by teams in the competition and is exploring potential adjustments to the league’s regulations to support them.

Ensuring Safety and Monitoring the Situation

Riot Games has emphasized that further changes may be necessary depending on the evolving situation. The Watch Parties for the fourth week have been paused for the time being to prioritize the safety of the players. The tournament organizer will keep the teams and fans updated on any developments.

As the competition resumes, SuperMassive Blaze will challenge BBL tomorrow at 9am CT. G2 will face off against Acend at 12pm CT, while Team Liquid will take on LDN UTD on Sunday at 10am CT.

Our thoughts are with the teams, players, and fans worldwide during these challenging times.
