VALORANT’s Pro Player Josh “Steel” Nissan Experiences Phoenix Ultimate Bug

VALORANT player discovers game glitch affecting ultimate abilities

Professional VALORANT player Josh “Steel” Nissan recently uncovered a glitch in the game that hinders ultimate abilities from functioning properly, even when activated.

Steel encountered this problem twice during a match while playing as Phoenix. He tried to use the Run It Back ability, which allows players to respawn at the activation location for a short period after being killed. It’s a powerful tool for pushing bombsites, but only when it works correctly.

In the first clip, you can see the ability activating at the bottom of the screen, but it fails to fully activate in the actual game. Steel expected to respawn in a safe location inside the bombsite, but instead, he was eliminated.

The same issue occurred later in the match, resulting in Steel’s elimination again instead of respawning.

It’s unclear if this problem affects other agents besides Phoenix, but it poses a significant concern. Steel shared the clips with Riot Nu, the principal software engineer at Riot Games, who confirmed that they would investigate the bug.

This isn’t the first glitch Steel has encountered in VALORANT. He recently faced a terrifying visual glitch where Sage’s character model appeared while entering Omen smokes. Steel also experienced a bug that caused the defuse bar to not appear during a match.
