VALORANT’s Lead Game Designer Reveals 6-Year Development Journey

The Development of Riot Games’ VALORANT took Six Years

Riot Games’ upcoming FPS game, VALORANT, has been in development for six years, according to lead game designer Trevor “Classick” Romleski. This includes three years of research and development (R&D), followed by three years of pre-production and production. In comparison, Riot Games’ card game, Legends of Runeterra, took three years to create.

Game Details and Release Window Revealed

VALORANT’s name and release window were recently announced, accompanied by gameplay information. One player who had the opportunity to try the game mentioned a stagger effect that slows down players when they are shot by enemies.

The gameplay sessions showcased eight characters, a variety of weapons, and two maps named Bind and Haven. Bind features two bombsites and two one-way portals for using abilities, while Haven has three bombsites.

The game’s eight characters and their abilities have also been revealed. However, no official release date for the beta has been announced yet.

Anticipated Release in Summer

VALORANT’s extensive development period has generated much anticipation among fans. The game is scheduled for release this summer.
