VALORANT Update 7: Act One Patch Notes

VALORANT’s First Act of Episode Seven, EVOLUTION, Introduces Exciting Changes

VALORANT is set to undergo another transformation with the launch of the first act of Episode Seven, known as EVOLUTION. This newest episode brings significant updates to the game through the Act One patch, including the addition of a new agent, a new game mode, and a new progression system.

Deadlock, the new agent, utilizes advanced technology to gain control over the map. Unlike traditional sentinel agents, Deadlock’s focus is on reactive gameplay rather than setting up defenses. The new game mode, Team Deathmatch, offers a fast-paced experience, offering a refreshing change from the typical free-for-all mode. Additionally, the new progression system introduces new ways to unlock agents, a more robust daily mission system, and a new in-game currency for a new storefront.

All these changes and more will be available in VALORANT when Episode Seven officially launches on June 27, following scheduled maintenance. Now let’s take a closer look at these exciting updates.

New Sentinel Agent: Deadlock

Deadlock is a specialist in map control and relies on nanowire technology to stop, stun, and slow down enemies. Her abilities include:

– GravNet (C): Throw a GravNet grenade that forces enemies within its range to crouch and move slowly.
– Sonic Sensor (Q): Deploy a Sonic Sensor that detects enemy sounds and stuns the area if significant noise is detected.
– Barrier Mesh (E): Throw a Barrier Mesh disc that generates barriers to block enemy movement.
– Annihilation (X): Unleash a pulse of nanowires that captures and pulls the first enemy contact, leading to their death if they reach the end of the nanowire path.

Deadlock’s abilities make her an excellent choice for defenders who need to react quickly to incoming site executes. She also shines during post-plant scenarios and retakes.

VALORANT Episode 7, Act One Patch Notes

New Team Deathmatch Mode

The new Team Deathmatch mode pits teams of five against each other in a race to 100 kills. The mode consists of four timed stages, starting with pistols and progressing to more powerful weapons in each stage. The mode is played on custom-made maps specifically designed for Team Deathmatch: District, Piazza, and Kasbah. While players can still use their abilities, all abilities have cooldown timers, and ultimates are charged by getting kills and picking up orbs. The maps also feature health and weapon pickups. Understanding the best agents to use in Team Deathmatch is crucial due to the mode’s unique gameplay mechanics.

New Progression System

The new progression system revamps the daily mission system, allowing players to progress through daily checkpoints by playing matches and earning XP and Kingdom Credits. Kingdom Credits can be used in the new Accessories store to purchase items from previous battle passes and unlock agents. Additionally, players can also unlock new agents through recruitment events, where XP earned goes directly towards unlocking a new agent’s contract without manual activation.

Bug Fixes in Episode 7

In the start of Episode Seven, Act One, several bug fixes have been implemented. These include general fixes to issues like the Spray Wheel not appearing during load-ins with packet loss, fixing a bug that allowed purchases outside of the player’s account region, and resolving an issue where opposing team bullet traces were visible during the Buy Phase. Agent-specific fixes have also been made, ensuring abilities like Chamber’s Rendezvous and Yoru’s Gatecrash correctly interrupt teleporting when suppressed. Social fixes address issues with the Chinese Baidu Pinyin input method and the Push-to-Talk key.

Stay tuned for more updates as VALORANT’s Episode Seven, EVOLUTION, goes live on June 27. The game continues to evolve with each new episode, offering exciting new content and improvements to enhance the player experience.
