VALORANT Pro’s Wallet in Jeopardy as Weapon Dominates VCT LOCK//IN

Team Vitality Player Twisten’s Bet is Costing Him at VCT LOCK//IN

During VCT LOCK//IN, Team Vitality player Twisten made a bet that may be backfiring on him. He promised to donate 25€ ($27) to charity after the conclusion of the tournament, but with a condition: he would also donate an additional 25€ for every kill made with a Shorty at the tournament.

Unfortunately for Twisten, professional players are utilizing the Shorty to its fullest extent at VCT LOCK//IN, unlike in previous international events. According to data from Run it Back and shared by Twitter user ‘Captaincow,’ there have already been 29 kills with the Shorty at VCT LOCK//IN, and the tournament has only been going on for one week. That means Twisten has to donate a total of 725 Euros to charity.

Although there hasn’t been a massive increase in the usage of the Shorty, professional players have become much more effective with it. At VCT Champions last September, there was a kill per usage rate of 0.30. In comparison, the kill per usage rate at VCT LOCK//IN is currently 1.16. This rate may change as the tournament progresses.

DRX player BuZz is leading the way with six Shorty kills. His team has played nine maps in the tournament so far, winning three of them with a 2-1 scoreline. They defeated Cloud9, Talon Esports, and BBL Esports.

On Feb. 23, Team Vitality will face off against Global Esports in their opening match.
