VALORANT players urge Riot to remove game’s most restrictive feature

VALORANT Premier: Players Demand Schedule Adjustments for Full-Time Gamers

Gamers participating in the VALORANT Premier league are urging Riot Games to accommodate those with full-time jobs by adjusting the tournament schedules. The current structure has made it challenging for players in the workforce to compete effectively due to early start times.

A meeting was organized by the nine-to-five community on Reddit on May 10 to discuss potential improvements to the Premier feature. The goal was to find a suitable time for competitive matches without inconveniencing other players.

The Premier bracket provides a four-hour window based on the player’s location, usually between 6-10 pm local time, to complete their VALORANT matches.

However, the 6 pm start time is too early for many full-time VALORANT players who struggle to make it in time after work. As a result, they miss out on matches that early bird gamers have the opportunity to experience.

One suggestion put forth by players was for Riot to dedicate three days a week to complete two Premier games, providing enough time for both matches. Although it might increase queue times, players seem open to the idea.

The good news is that VALORANT Premier is still in its beta form, allowing Riot the opportunity to address the start time issue before the official release. Players have pointed to other successful esports titles like Rocket League as potential formats that Riot could consider emulating.

With time on their side, Riot has the chance to make significant changes to the Premier structure. Until they release the full tournament system, players will need to make the most of the current format and try to participate in as many matches as possible.

Alternatively, players may consider requesting an early mark from their bosses to ensure they can participate in VALORANT games.
