A VALORANT player recently showcased an impressive tactic that utilized an Astra Star as cover. While peeking A Short on the Haven map, they strategically placed the Star to obstruct the enemy’s view of their position, giving them an advantage in engagements.
The Video: Deploying the Astra Star for Cover
A video posted on Reddit demonstrates this tactic in action. The player defending A site on Haven deployed an Operator and positioned an Astra Star at the entrance of A Short. By doing so, they successfully obscured their location from the attackers, allowing them to eliminate an enemy player undetected.
Gaining the Advantage in the Round
This kill put the attackers in a disadvantageous position, making it easier for the player to hold the site. Instead of maintaining their position in A Short, they rotated to A Heaven and secured two more kills, ultimately preventing the enemy team from planting the Spike. To conclude the round, they eliminated the final lurking enemy near A Short, achieving an impressive 4k.
