VALORANT Patch 6.02: Complete details and enhancements

The latest update for VALORANT, Patch 6.02, has arrived today after a slight delay with the Public Beta Environment.

This patch focuses on addressing frustrations that come with playing against players with high ping, introduces the voice chat evaluation program in a limited beta, and includes important bug fixes for agents and maps, specifically Lotus.

Here are the patch notes for VALORANT Patch 6.02:

The main focus of Patch 6.02 is the update to the gameplay systems. The max server rewind limit in VALORANT has been reduced from 200 ms to 140 ms.

Server rewinding is the process that corrects character positions based on the time it takes for player input to reach the server when a bullet is fired. This reduction in the max value will result in fewer instances where players get “shot” after safely repositioning.

For players with low ping, the difference should be minimal. However, players with high ping will experience fewer situations where they are hit by a bullet fired before taking cover. They may also notice some hit registration inaccuracies.

Background voice chat evaluation moved to limited beta

Last year, Riot Games introduced the Riot Voice Evaluation (RVE) background program in North America. Now, the RVE has entered a limited beta phase with enhanced data collection capabilities for behavioral reports. This beta phase will also see improvements in comms-related interventions.

Agent bug fixes

Here are the bug fixes for agents and their abilities in VALORANT Patch 6.02:

KAY/O

  • A potential bug with KAY/O’s Zero/point (E) not correctly displaying the suppressed enemies has been addressed. If the issue persists, players are encouraged to report it to Riot.

Raze

  • Improved pathfinding for Raze’s Boom Bot (C) when chasing enemies. It can now more consistently jump up small heights with smoother movement.
  • Fixed a bug that caused Boom Bot (C) to get stuck in a wall, shake rapidly, and make loud noise. It will now bounce off the wall as intended.

Yoru

  • Fixed a bug where Yoru’s Fakeout (C) could get stuck in mid-air at different locations.

Cypher

  • Fixed a bug where Cypher’s Neural Theft (X) would only reveal once if he was killed or if the round had changed during a previous cast.
  • Fixed a bug where Cypher’s Neural Theft (X) reveal would be interrupted if he was killed after it had been deployed.

Map bug fixes

Here are the bug fixes for maps in VALORANT Patch 6.02:

Lotus

  • Players will no longer produce footstep audio when dropping from B site platform to the fountain.
  • Lowered the volume of the rotating door during rotation.
  • Players passing through the rotating door next to each other should have a smoother experience.
  • Fixed an issue where players would spawn on the wrong side of the barrier near C site if standing on the rotating door at the end of the round.

Fracture

  • Fixed a bug where the “Paul Delmann” badge would remain on the screen after the Buy Phase ends.

Other changes

A fix has been implemented for an issue where the Frenzy and Bulldog reload audio was quieter compared to other weapons in third person.

A bug that caused voice chat to stop working when disconnected from the internet for less than 60 seconds has been resolved. Players can now reconnect to voice chat without having to restart the game.
