VALORANT Patch 3.01 Adorns Maps with Ruined King Posters

VALORANT and League of Legends Crossover Continues in Patch 3.01

The Sentinels of Light event in League of Legends is bringing a new champion named Akshan, who joins other Sentinels in their mission to save the world from the evil Ruined King. Surprisingly, Viego, the Ruined King himself, has made his way to VALORANT, even though the two games exist in separate universes. Cynprel, a fan with a deep knowledge of the lore, has found various decorations featuring the Ruined King across VALORANT’s map pool.

Players can now find Ruined King posters featuring Viego and his iconic Blade of the Ruined King on the maps Split, Bind, and Ascent. Some of these decorations also contain a mysterious message indicating that “darkness has arrived,” hinting at the impending Ruination that threatens the world.

Despite being separate worlds, Riot Games is uniting VALORANT and League of Legends through this major event. The developers of the game have already teased the upcoming Ruination skins, including chilling cosmetics for weapons such as the Phantom, Ghost, Spectre, Guardian, and the Blade of the Ruined King melee. Additionally, Viego appears as a player card in VALORANT.

This is not the first time VALORANT’s maps have been decorated to promote an event. In Patch 2.06, developers scattered love letters throughout the Ascent map, hinting at a potential “Agents of Romance” spinoff and even including romantic gifts and flowers. However, it turned out to be an April Fools’ Day prank.
