VALORANT map engulfed in a purple haze due to Omen bug

Omen Bug in VALORANT Causes Smoke Vision Glitch

Playing smokes in VALORANT can be challenging, especially in ranked games. However, a recent bug involving the agent Omen takes things to another level.

An Omen player encountered a glitch in their Spike Rush game that caused the sky to turn black and the map to appear purple. This visual distortion is similar to what Omen sees when using his smoke ability, but it normally lasts only a few seconds. In this case, the glitch persisted throughout the entire gameplay, obscuring the player’s view of Breeze.

According to a Reddit post, the player spawned into the match with the glitched smoke vision. They could still hear in-game sounds, but they couldn’t see their teammates or enemies. As a result, they were at a severe disadvantage and often got shot by enemies they couldn’t even see.

This bug also affected Omen’s ability to identify enemies. Normally, enemies appear as red on Omen’s screen when in smoke form, allowing the player to exit the smoke and engage in gunfights. However, this visual cue was missing due to the glitch, further complicating the gameplay.

Unrecognized Map and Funny Reactions

The glitch not only made the game more challenging but also led to some humorous reactions. Players commented on the Reddit post, jokingly referring to the glitch as “lore accurate Omen.” Others noted that the map became almost unrecognizable with the purple haze, causing confusion among players.

Riot Games Yet to Address the Bug

Although this particular bug is relatively new, it is not the first time Omen’s smoke form has caused issues. In a video from 2022, an animation cancel resulted in a similar glitch that was later fixed. However, this current glitch appears to have a different origin, and Riot Games is yet to address it officially. Hopefully, a solution will be found soon to restore fair gameplay for Omen players.
