VALORANT Introduces Practice Queue, Timeouts, and Playoff Seeding to Premier

The Latest Changes Coming to VALORANT Premier Season

The first season of Premier, known as Launch Stage, has officially concluded, and Riot is wasting no time in implementing exciting new updates for the competitive seasonal tournament. In the upcoming season, Premier players can look forward to three major quality-of-life improvements that will enhance their gaming experience.

Starting with the next Premier stage in Episode Seven, Act Three, teams will have access to a practice queue on select non-match days, introducing valuable practice opportunities for teams to improve their cohesion and teamwork before important weekly matches. Although the practice queue will not be open at all times, it’s still a step in the right direction.

Another highly requested feature from the Premier community is the addition of tactical timeouts. Players have been asking for this since before Premier was even announced, and they might eventually see it implemented in the normal competitive queue as well.

In addition to these key additions, Premier will also undergo other changes for the seasonal tournament mode’s improvement. This includes a new one-and-a-half day enrollment period, a 15-minute seeding period to enhance matchmaking, and the addition of the previously announced Premier Crests. At the end of the season, players will be able to win and earn Crests that showcase their team’s performance.

VALORANT Episode Seven, Act Three is scheduled for release on October 31, 2023.
