VALORANT Ignition Series Event by BLAST Scheduled for Sept. 11

Danish Tournament Organizer BLAST Expands into VALORANT with Twitch Invitational

BLAST, the Danish tournament organizer, is venturing into the world of VALORANT for the final installment of the Ignition Series. They are hosting the BLAST VALORANT Twitch Invitational, featuring four of Europe’s top teams competing for a prize pool of €50,000 ($59,000).

Participating in the tournament are FunPlus Phoenix, G2 Esports, Ninjas in Pyjamas, and Team Liquid. The teams will compete in a best-of-three double-elimination bracket, with the finalists facing off in a best-of-five grand final.

The BLAST VALORANT Twitch Invitational will be exclusively streamed on Twitch from Friday, Sept. 11 to Sunday, Sept. 13. The tournament will have an upper and lower bracket, with FunPlus Phoenix vs. Ninjas in Pyjamas and G2 vs. Liquid being the initial matchups.

In a press release, BLAST’s director of product and experience, Nicolas Estrup, shared his thoughts on the invitational, saying, “VALORANT has achieved remarkable success since its launch in June and has quickly become a fan-favorite. We are excited to showcase what BLAST can bring to the table with our top-notch production and fan-first approach.”

While BLAST is primarily known for hosting the Blast Pro Series and Blast Premier in the CS:GO scene, they have recently expanded to other games. In May 2020, they organized a Bounty Hunt event for Dota 2, and now they are adding the BLAST VALORANT Twitch Invitational to their repertoire.
