FENNEL Female Terminates Coach Contract Over Inappropriate Relationship with a Minor
FENNEL Female, the women’s VALORANT roster competing in Game Changers under the Japanese FENNEL organization, has swiftly terminated the contract of coach “hanpipe” after confirming internally that the coach had an “inappropriate relationship with a minor woman.”
In a statement posted on the org’s Twitter account, FENNEL announced that they have terminated the contract of coach “hanpipe” after discovering his inappropriate relationship with a minor. The coach admitted to the relationship, which he had concealed from FENNEL. Due to the seriousness of the situation and his efforts to hide it, FENNEL made the decision to terminate his contract.
New Coach Terminated Just Three Days After Joining FENNEL
Hanpipe had only recently been brought on to the organization just three days prior to being let go, alongside another coach. Allegations about the inappropriate relationship first emerged in the replies to the hiring announcement of hanpipe by FENNEL. Reporter Gareso Takizawa claimed to have proof of the coach’s sexual relationship with a minor and efforts to cover it up.
FENNEL Takes Steps to Prevent Future Incidents
In light of the incident, FENNEL has announced that it will implement a system to perform thorough checks on coaches and players before they join the organization. This measure aims to prevent similar incidents from happening in the future.
FENNEL Continues to Build Its Game Changers Roster
FENNEL is currently in the process of finalizing its complete FENNEL Female roster for the 2023 Game Changers season. Despite the recent setback, FENNEL’s female roster had a successful 2022, winning both Game Changers events in Japan and East Asia. However, they were eliminated early in the international championship. During the offseason, three players left to join the Game Changers divisions of DRX and ZETA DIVISION.
