VALORANT Episode 6 starts without ranked gun buddies, players express frustration

Missing Ranked Gun Buddy Issue in VALORANT Episode Six

The release of Episode Six in VALORANT brings a new three-site map, Lotus, and the return of Split. However, some dedicated ranked players are experiencing a missing piece in their gaming experience.

Players who logged into VALORANT at the start of Episode Six, Act One, were expecting to find their ranked gun buddy, which represents their highest rank in the previous episode. Unfortunately, the ranked gun buddy is nowhere to be found. Numerous players have taken to the main VALORANT subreddit to discuss this issue.

In previous episodes, players would receive their ranked gun buddy at the end of the episode, featuring the color of their achieved rank. There was no specific task required at the start of a new episode; the ranked gun buddy would simply appear in their collection.

Episode Five concluded on January 10th, with Episode Six beginning the next day. Episode Six brings changes to the rank rating system, with wins, losses, and individual performance having a stronger impact on rank rating compared to round differential.

It is likely that the missing ranked gun buddy is a bug or oversight that will eventually be resolved. Additionally, the launch of Episode Six initially did not enable the Lotus-only queue. Players experiencing the missing ranked gun buddy should exercise patience. However, if the issue persists after a few days into the episode, contacting Riot support is recommended.
