VALORANT Duelist Continues to Dominate VCT Masters Tokyo Pick Rates

Jett Dominates the Meta in VALORANT Champions Tour Masters Tokyo

The playoffs for the VALORANT Champions Tour Masters in Tokyo are just around the corner, and one agent is standing out among the rest as the most-picked duelist.

Jett has an overwhelming pick rate of nearly 70 percent in the group stage of the tournament, which is double that of her duelist counterparts. Regardless of the region or map, professional players are following a clear meta.

Although Jett was slightly less popular in Europe, she, along with Sentinel agent Killjoy, dominated pick rates in every VCT region this season. Their dominance has carried over into VCT Masters Tokyo and will likely continue when Patch 6.11 goes live.

Raze, Jett’s closest competitor in the duelist category, currently sits at a 30 percent pick rate. Although Raze has previously kept up with Jett, the gap has widened significantly.

Only Killjoy surpasses the Korean agent, appearing in three-quarters of all VCT Masters Tokyo matches according to vlr.gg. With 16 best-of-three matches remaining, it seems that Jett’s lead may be insurmountable.

Jett is overwhelmingly favored on maps like Ascent, Pearl, and Haven, being picked every time on these maps. She also holds a respectable 75 percent pick rate on Split.

Her lowest pick rate, 25 percent, is on Bind, where Raze typically takes on the entry role. There is a possibility that we could see a plateau similar to the VCT: EMEA League 2023. However, Jett is likely to maintain her lead for now.

The question of how long Jett can dominate the meta arises. Her kit is highly utilized by Operator users, who can fire and quickly evade any follow-up from opponents. Other rival Duelists remain untouched in Tokyo, as Phoenix, Chamber, Reyna, and Yoru have yet to see any action in the Japanese tournament.

Patch 6.11 will bring buffs to Chamber players to improve their experience. However, it remains to be seen if Jett will receive nerfs or a potential rework in a future update. The future adjustments for the Korean agent are uncertain.
