VALORANT developer dismisses Shroud’s allegation of a “losers queue”

Shroud’s Theory of a “Losers Queue” Debunked by VALORANT Developer

During a recent stream, a viewer convinced popular streamer Shroud that there is a “losers queue” in VALORANT, where players who perform poorly are matched together. However, a Riot Games developer clarified that this theory is not true.

As reported by Dexerto, the Riot Games developer, EvrMoar, addressed the claims in a Twitter thread on July 22. According to EvrMoar, VALORANT uses a skill-based matchmaking system and does not have a separate queue for players who are losing.

EvrMoar stated, “Research shows fair matchmaking keeps players, not unfair manipulated matchmaking,” implying that VALORANT prioritizes balanced matches over targeting players who are on a losing streak.

It is common for players to feel like they are stuck in a “losers queue” when their skill level declines and they are matched with lower-skilled opponents. However, this is just a result of the matchmaking system trying to find balanced teams. There is no intentional “losers queue” in VALORANT.

EvrMoar emphasized that losing matches consecutively is one of the main reasons players quit, which is why VALORANT focuses on fair matchmaking to retain players in the game.

In conclusion, the theory of a “losers queue” in VALORANT has been debunked by a Riot Games developer. The game uses a skill-based matchmaking system to ensure fair matches and does not separate players based on their performance.
