VALORANT community requests Riot to amplify the strength of a beloved character

VALORANT Community Suggests Buffing Wingman: Here’s Why

Riot Games is working hard to balance maps, agents, and abilities in VALORANT Episode Seven, Act Two. However, fans are eager to see a buff for their favorite sidekick, Wingman.

In a recent post in the VALORANT community, players suggested that Wingman should have additional interactions apart from planting and defusing the spike. Some even joked about Wingman being able to resurrect KAY/O during his ultimate ability.

Currently, Wingman can only interact with the spike by carrying it to a designated location to plant or defuse it. He can also reveal enemy positions by running towards them. Players want to see Wingman’s abilities expanded beyond just the spike.

During VCT Champions 2023 in Los Angeles, Wingman became a fan-favorite among the crowd. Players cheered whenever Wingman was used to plant the spike, regardless of the team they were supporting.

Aside from resurrecting KAY/O, players also suggested that Wingman should be able to open doors in VALORANT maps. Opening doors currently requires players to use levers, switches, or take damage. By allowing Wingman to interact with doors, players could save time and resources.

However, one concern with this idea is that Wingman’s unique sound effects when walking would give away that a real player is not operating the door. Additionally, Wingman’s height may also be a limitation in reaching buttons and levers.

Ultimately, whether or not Wingman receives a buff, he will continue to be a beloved companion for all VALORANT players.
