Valiant updates: Patch 7.10 brings buffs, nerfs, and changes in VALORANT

VALORANT Patch 7.10: Deadlock Buffs and Other Changes

Riot Games is set to release Patch 7.10 for VALORANT on Nov. 14, and fans of the sentinel agent Deadlock have something to look forward to. Deadlock, who has been struggling in the game regardless of rank, will receive significant buffs that should increase her popularity among players.

Since her introduction in June, Deadlock has failed to make an impact in professional play or among casual players. However, Patch 7.10 aims to change that by improving her abilities and making her more viable in the game.

In addition to the Deadlock buffs, the VALORANT developers have made changes to Jett and implemented Team Deathmatch-only changes to Reyna and Fade. Here’s everything that’s changing in VALORANT with Patch 7.10.

Deadlock buffs

The Deadlock buffs mainly revolve around her GravNet ability. Previously, players could wait for the effect to expire or move out of the net radius to remove its effects. However, with the buffs, players must now manually remove the net to negate its effects, which adds a new layer of strategy and interaction to the ability.

Riot Games stated, “We think this unlocks a unique power profile while making it a more interesting interaction on both sides, as enemies must put down their weapon and make a noise to deal with the debuff.” Additionally, the radius of GravNet has been increased from six meters to eight meters.

Jett’s change

Riot has made tweaks to Jett’s third-person animations while using her ultimate ability, Blade Storm. These changes aim to improve the visibility and understanding of Jett’s movements when she is running or throwing knives.

To improve the Team Deathmatch experience, Riot has addressed certain abilities that were overpowering in this mode. For Reyna, her ability Leer will now have a cooldown of 51 seconds instead of 44 seconds. Additionally, her ultimate ability, Empress, will charge 14 percent slower, encouraging players to prioritize orbs to use the ultimate more effectively.

As for Fade, who has been struggling in Team Deathmatch, Riot has made some buffs to improve her utility in this mode. The cooldown of Prowler has been reduced from 44 seconds to 36 seconds, while the cooldown of Seize has been reduced from 51 seconds to 48 seconds.

Bug fixes

Riot has addressed several bugs in Patch 7.10, with some of them having a significant impact on gameplay.

General

  • Fixed a bug where reverb wasn’t being properly applied to some sounds, including gunshots and footsteps.
  • In some situations, Viper’s Pit wasn’t correctly blocking vision for enemies on the minimap or megamap. This has been fixed.
  • Fixed issues with Fade’s Prowler ability passing through certain objects.

Player behavior

Fixed an issue where the report button text in VALORANT was cut off for the Arabic language when accessing the Player Report menu.
