Upset Rematch Shocks VALORANT Champions as International LAN Newcomers Take Down NRG Early

VALORANT Champions Knockout Stage: BiliBili Gaming Shocks NRG

Chinese teams in the VALORANT Champions knockout stage have proven their worth on the Los Angeles stage. BiliBili Gaming, despite being considered underdogs, emerged victorious against NRG in their rematch.

A Surprising Upset

In the first meeting during the Champions group stage, BiliBili Gaming defeated NRG. However, NRG is known for rarely losing rematches. Only a few VALORANT teams have managed to defeat them twice in a row. Yet BiliBili Gaming showed confidence as they faced NRG in the elimination match.

“You guys are going home, 100 percent,” stated NRG’s Ardis “ardiis” Svarenieks in a post-match interview after defeating Zeta Division. Unfortunately for NRG, they were unable to fulfill that promise as BiliBili Gaming swept them 2-0. BLG’s duelist, Wang “whzy” Haozhe, outperformed ardiis with an impressive ACS and kill count.

BiliBili Gaming’s Star Player

BiliBili Gaming’s Viper star, Lei “yosemite” Wang, stole the show with crucial plays and high kill counts. He played a significant role in keeping BLG ahead throughout the matches.

With NRG’s 2023 VCT season coming to a close, they may still participate in some of the upcoming VALORANT tournaments scheduled by Riot for the OFF//SEASON.

Meanwhile, BiliBili Gaming will join their Chinese peers, EDG, in the playoffs stage of Champions. Their next challenge will be facing off against South Korean powerhouse DRX.
