Upcoming VALORANT Hotfix to Fix Phoenix’s Curveball Bug

VALORANT Agent Phoenix’s Curveball Ability Bugged

One of the most popular agents in VALORANT has a strange bug affecting his ability.

The official VALORANT Twitter account revealed that Phoenix’s Curveball ability is behaving “differently than intended.” Riot, the game’s developer, is working on a hotfix to address the issue as soon as possible.

While the exact details of the bug were not provided by Riot, Morello, the lead character designer for VALORANT, responded to a player’s frustration on Twitter and acknowledged the issue.

The player expressed their concerns, stating, “Phoenix is ruined now. To effectively flash through doors, you have to stand a certain distance away from the wall or risk flashing yourself or the entire team. Sometimes, the flash even goes behind the enemy on the other side. Please consider reverting this change.”

Morello confirmed that the bug was unintentional and assured players that it would be fixed. However, no specific timeline for the fix was provided.

This bug seems to have appeared with Patch 1.06, which aimed to reduce the “air shotgun” strategy by decreasing shotgun accuracy when the player is in the air. The spread penalty for shotguns while airborne was nearly tripled in the patch, making it difficult to land accurate shots while jumping or falling.

Riot and Morello have not provided a specific timeframe for the hotfix addressing the Phoenix bug.
