Unidentified VALORANT Player Notifies VCT Observer about Account Theft

Nicholas “Yehty” Tesolin Recovers Stolen VALORANT Account Thanks to Good Samaritan

A random act of kindness saved Nicholas “Yehty” Tesolin from permanently losing his VALORANT account. Yehty, a Canadian observer for the VCT, recently received a strange email that revealed the shocking truth about his stolen account.

The Unlikely Discovery of Yehty’s Stolen Account

According to the email Yehty received, someone had purchased his stolen VALORANT account on a black market in Turkey. The buyer, who noticed the account’s connection to Yehty, decided to track down the observer and inform him of the theft.

A Guilty Conscience Spurs Action

The person who emailed Yehty expressed remorse for their friend’s purchase, realizing it was wrong to support the illicit account trade. They provided Yehty with his account’s username and password as proof, urging him to change his password and exercise caution.

The Account’s Rarity Exposed

The email sender, upon noticing the presence of a Fist Bump gun buddy—a rare item only available to Rioters—embarked on a quest to identify the original owner. Through research, they discovered Yehty’s Twitch channel and Liquipedia page, prompting them to reach out and facilitate the return of his stolen account.

Yehty had previously noticed two randomly changed skins on his account but dismissed them as a bug. Given his frequent use of tournament clients, he never suspected a security breach until this incident.

In gratitude, Yehty expressed his appreciation and advised others to change their account passwords if they had any doubts about their security. This incident highlights the need for Riot Games to address the issue of stolen VALORANT accounts being sold on the black market and reinforce account security measures.
